Why Lisha fell in love with her gown...
"My journey to finding my gown was long. Almost 3 years long. I originally began looking for a dress in March 2021 and tried on so many different styles and visited stores in QLD, VIC, ACT, and finally WA. I actually bought a dress in April 2021 but then my wedding was postponed due to Covid. When our new date started to come round I pulled the dress out of storage and tried it on. Only to discover that the dress that was “me” 2 years ago wasn’t the dress I wanted to be married in. Panic ensued obviously with only 6 months left before the wedding day. I then found myself in my hometown of Perth shopping with my maid of honour for her bridesmaid dress at Archela Bridal. With lots of cajoling from her and the amazingly supportive environment at Archela, I took the plunge and asked if there were any dresses available in my size (AUS 20) that we could have ready for the day. Shopping as a plus size bride is already scary enough but the fairy godmothers at Archela swooped in to literally save my day. We tried on a few gowns and there was a lot of competition because I loved so many of them. Then we tried on one and the moment I saw it actually on my body, I fell in love. We knew alterations were going to be needed so it was imaging what the dress could be once it was altered for me and I’m so glad I took the risk because then the dress made me feel like myself and the best version of myself."

Lisha's favourite moment from her wedding day...
"My partner and I moved from WA to Canberra in 2017 and between lock downs, distance and Covid, we haven't been able to see our families very often. So having my parents, my sister and my grandmother visit Canberra for the first time and to have them with us for the week leading up to the wedding was a memory that we'll hold close forever.
From the actual wedding there were so many moments, I think the one that blew us away was we decided to have a small wedding but the love we felt in the room throughout the entire day was so humbling and special.
My partner and I slipped away for a moment of quiet outside and we could still hear the music from the dance floor. A sing came on and we danced just the two of us under the stars and took a moment to really truly take everything in and just enjoy it all."
