Our day was the most special and memorable day of our lives, and we were soo happy to have all of our close family and friends together in our little country town of Derby (north-west Kimberley region) to help us celebrate our special day. Every element of our day had a sentimental place in our lives- flowers were created by our talented sister, fishing elements reflected our love of fishing (I surprised David by arriving on our dinghy being towed by a car, boutonnieres were lures and our wishing well was a bait cage), the boys wore board shorts and the bridal party wore thongs (everything we love about living in the Kimberley) and almost all of our vendors were people who we had known on a much more personal level.
Our ceremony took place under a big old Boab tree on the outskirts of the marsh and was followed by our reception at the newly redeveloped Mary Island Fishing Club. Our formal bridal photos took place out at Myalls Bore and the Prison Boab Tree which are both historical sites of our town.
Due to the remoteness of where we live, I had planned on purchasing a dress online. I happened to be in Perth for a few weeks and planned to try on different dress styles to work out what suited me best, however when I tried my dress on I truly had the ‘this is my dress’ moment and my shopping party all cried.. Months later at my first fitting, I took a necklace I had planned on wearing to my appointment for the first time and the dress and pearls matched perfectly which was such a coincidence- it was then that we knew it was meant to be..
The entire team at Brides Selection made my wedding dress shopping experience absolutely perfect and were soo accommodating with fitting things in to suit my schedule whenever I was in town. I will definitely recommend their team to my family and friends when it is their turn.
