Our Story:
I met my husband Corey 7 years ago in my home town, he had recently moved here from the city. I found his fashion taste absolutely terrible! But it didn’t take long before I learnt that he was a wonderful man (and quickly sorted his fashion out!). We then spent a few years saving for a house before travelling around Aust and Europe.
Our wedding was in Jurien Bay (where Corey also proposed) on 24th March. It was a DIY wedding with the reception held at the local footy club function room. It was my goal with planning the wedding to use as many suppliers local to the region as possible. I was slightly worried I would not be able to achieve such task but I manage to have all but two suppliers local! My photographer was Erin Marie Photography of Moora (where we live), florist was Easy Peasy Posy of Watheroo, catering was by 3 friends from Dandaragan who could rival any Perth caterer, celebrant was Vicki Martin- my year 6 teacher (she taught my dad, brother and myself, and married my brother also) and day of coordinator was Charmaine Powell Jurien Bay local and good friend of my husband. My only suppliers not local was the makeup artist (Teika Eva & Co and giant love letters from Dazzling Lights).
We had all of Friday afternoon to set up the reception for 118 people which I knew was going to be a massive job. But fortunately I have an amazing group of friends and family who all pitched in to help set up- the room turned out amazing! What wasn’t amazing was getting struck down with food poisoning on Friday morning! I was pretty useless when it came to set up so that god for everyone!
The wedding day was a photographers dream- the perfect amount of overcast! I was worried the sea breeze would come howling in by the time of the 4pm ceremony. But it was a perfect 26 degrees with a gentle easterly of all things!
We had absolutely the best day with not a thing going wrong (as far as anyone has told me!). It’s true what they say about the day going so fast tho; the morning took forever but before I knew it we were married!
I cannot thank Claudia enough for helping me find the dream dress. 6 months out from the wedding I hadn’t found anything I loved until I saw a picture of my dress as a sponsored Facebook post- I didn’t even follow your page at that point! After trying the dress I spent all night talking about it (at someone else’s wedding mind you!) so took my mum back the following day. I promised myself I wouldn’t be one of those brides who cried over a dress. But some times you just can’t help it! It was the best feeling after not much luck. All the guests commented on how the dress was very me; traditional with a bit of a twist. One of my friends still tells me how much she loved my dress every time I see her! I’m still so in love with it myself and plan to never part with it!
